Animal Rights Activism Month – Chapter 3 – Open Rescue Workshop

Open rescue je dio akcija koje se vode pod organizacijom Direct Action Everywhere. Karakterizirana je nenasiljem prema životinjama i ljudima. Nakon spašavanja životinja osigura im se veterinarska skrb, mjesto u utočištu za životinje te se njihova priča dokumentira video zapisima i dijeli po društvenim mrežama kako bi se razvila svijest o patnjama koje životinje prolaze.

Aktivisti koji se bave navedenim trebali bi biti posebno educirani i pripremljeni za moguće prepreke tijekom spašavanja životinja, ali većinom aktivisti prvi puta ulaze u to sasvim slučajno, kada se pruži prilika te bez ikakvog konkretnog plana.

Upravo zbog aktivista koji se bave spašavanjem životinja imamo snimke koje pokazujemo tijekom screeninga i Kocke Istine (Cube of Truth). Ponekada cilj nažalost ne može biti spašavanje životinja, ali zato se rade provjere uvjeta u kojima se životinje drže te se i to dokumentira video zapisima.

(Open rescue is part of the actions that are being taken by Direct Action Everywhere. It is characterized by non-violence against animals and humans. After saving animals, they are provided with veterinary care, a place in the animal sanctuary, and their story is documented in videos and shared through social networks to develop awareness of the suffering of animals. Activists dealing with these should be specially trained and prepared for possible obstacles during the animal rescue, but most of the activists for the first time enter it quite by chance, when the opportunity arises, and without any specific plan. Just because of activists who deal with animal rescue, we have footages to show during screening and Cube of Truth. Sometimes the goal can not be rescuing the animals, but it is also important to check the conditions in which animals are kept and to document everything in video recordings.)
